With the blessings of the Maha Swamigal – Pujyasri Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi of the holy Sri Kanchi Mutt, intiative was taken by His Holiness Sri Sri Jayendra  Saraswathi Swamigal, laid the foundation for this school way back on 24.01.1988 in offering quality education at an affordable fees to the lower and middle class today. The beginning of our school was made in a small room in the house of Pandit Shri sethurama Chettiar, at the junction of Mahatma Gandhi Road and Rangapillai street. It was only in 1990 that the school was started in a separate building, the present Mahatma Gandhi Road Campus which was donated by the family of Pandit  Shri Seetharama Chettiar. The school was started with just 24 students. The school has an annex building at Ranga Pillai street which is housing Nursery Section.

From a Primary school in 1990, we grew as Middle School in 2012, as a High School in 2014 and as Higher Secondary School in 2015. There is a divine significance attached to our school. The school is situated in “SANKARARKULAM’

 

• At Sankara, Our aim is not strictly stick to the exam syllabus but also value-based education is given priority. Keeping up with tradition, all the festival days are celebrated in the school to make the children understand our culture. We equally strive to give importance to co-curricular activities, of course, with a touch of patriotic and spiritual values. We celebrate International Yoga day, Independence Day, Republic Day and keeping up with the tradition, the festival days are celebrated in school to make the children understand our culture. Be it Sri Ganesa Chathurthi, Gokulashtami, Guru Purnima, Vasantha Panchami, Navarathri, Deepavali, Karthigai, Pongal, Maha Sivarathri, Margazhi Utsav, Saint Thiyagara Utsav Sanskrit Day, birth anniversaries of great National and Spiritual leaders etc. are done with great enthusiasm and vigour. Even the birthday of the students is celebrated by singing a special song to bless him or her. We organize all these programs without affecting academic routines of the students and the teacher. We are very happy to share that we offer Sanskrit as a compulsory language from Class IV to VIII. Besides the regular academic classes, we coach students for Certificate courses in Sanskrit. Our alumni are making us proud in various fields like Medicine, Engineering, IT, Defense, forensic, Judicial etc. which stands as a testimony for the achievement of our school.
